What is the Bullying, Literacy & Leadership Experience?

The Bullying, Literacy & Leadership Experience (BLLX) is an immersive professional learning experience that equips adults with practical tools, shared language, and real-world strategies to help children thrive. Through engaging presentations, meaningful discussions, interactive learning experiences, and real-world examples, you'll leave with practical tools you can use immediately.

Whether you're a parent, teacher, counselor, coach, mentor, or another adult who supports children, you'll leave with practical resources, renewed confidence, and actionable strategies you can immediately apply in your everyday interactions with children.

Every day, a child wonders:

"Why doesn't anyone like me?"

"Will they make fun of me again?"

"Who can I tell?"

Every day, an adult wants to help.

 "Am I overreacting?"

"Is this bullying or conflict?"

"What should I say?"

"How do I help?"

The Bullying, Literacy & Leadership Experience equips adults with the knowledge, practical tools, and confidence to answer those questions and better support the children who depend on them.

Every child deserves adults who recognize bullying, strengthen literacy, build confidence, and inspire leadership.

Imagine the child in your life...

Coming home after another difficult day.

Would you know what to say?

Would you know the difference between conflict and bullying?

Would you know how to help rebuild their confidence instead of unintentionally making things worse?

The Bullying, Literacy & Leadership Experience prepares adults to respond with confidence in moments like these.

At the Bullying, Literacy & Leadership Experience, you'll learn how to:

Bullying

  • Distinguish bullying from everyday conflict.
  • Respond using practical, research-informed strategies.
  • Help children advocate for themselves safely and confidently

Literacy

  • Use children's literature to start meaningful conversations.
  • Strengthen vocabulary, empathy, and critical thinking.
  • Help children process difficult experiences through reading and discussion.

Leadership

  • Build children's confidence, resilience, and sense of belonging.
  • Encourage self-advocacy and responsible decision-making.
  • Help children develop the mindset and skills to lead themselves and positively influence others.

You'll leave with practical tools, valuable resources, and an action plan you can begin using immediately to better support the children in your life.

Angela M. Odom

Founder & Host, The Bullying, Literacy & Leadership Experience

Angela M. Odom is a retired U.S. Army Colonel, children's author, educator, and community leader who has dedicated her career to helping children and the adults who support them thrive. As the founder of the Bullying, Literacy & Leadership Experience and creator of the Landon Learns children's book series, she equips adults with practical tools they can immediately use to recognize bullying, strengthen literacy, build confidence, and develop leadership.

After years of working with children, families, schools, and community organizations, Angela recognized a common challenge: adults want to help children navigate bullying, build confidence, and develop leadership skills—but many have never been given practical tools to do so.

Through her books, educational programs, and now the Bullying, Literacy, & Leadership Experience, Angela equips parents, educators, caregivers, and youth leaders with strategies they can use immediately to help children become stronger readers, confident leaders, and resilient young people.

Why I Created BLLX

I created the Bullying, Literacy & Leadership Experience because I believe children deserve adults who know how to help.

I wrote the Landon Learns children's book series with my nieces, nephews, and the children I love in mind.

I wanted to give their parents and the other adults in their lives practical tools to help them navigate bullying, build confidence, strengthen literacy, and develop leadership.

Then I realized the books were only the beginning.

Adults needed more than information: they needed practical tools, meaningful conversations, opportunities to practice, and strategies they could begin using immediately.

That's why I created the Bullying, Literacy & Leadership Experience.

Every child deserves an adult who knows how to help. The Bullying, Literacy, & Leadership Experience exists to make that possible.
