A mindset refers to whether you believe qualities such as intelligence and talent are fixed or changeable traits. ... People with a fixed mindset believe that these qualities are inborn, fixed, and unchangeable.
Mindset is defined as the established set of assumptions, methods, or notions held by someone.
What we believe impacts how we think about our abilities and potential, therefore fueling our behavior and predicting our success.
Fixed Mindset and Growth Mindset describes our relationship with failure. Whether we avoid it at all costs or we understand that we’re all capable of evolving and learning from situations and circumstances.
The “growth mindset” creates a passion for learning rather than a hunger for approval.
Three Mindset Hacks women leaders should consider as we move into 2021 are:
Write or document six things for which you're grateful.
This exercise allows your brain to search for evidence that you have some good experiences in which to relate. This is helpful.
Mindset Hack #2
Determine what you will Stop, Start and Keep. Write it down or use your notes feature on one of your digital devices or laptops.
For example, I will STOP setting myself on fire to keep others ward.
I will START finishing projects. I have all of these great ideas and several of them are in various stages of completion.
Finally, I will KEEP being present in my favorite teenager is in my physical and digital space. In 2019, I saw a YouTube video of one of Oprah Winfrey's previous shows and it inspired me to start shutting my big ole mouth when my son was talking. I listened or least tried to listen without judgement even when he was going on and on about farts, snakes, and video games. The episode to which I'm referring featured a few women discussing big moments in their lives. Toni Morrison, author of The Bluest Eye, was on the Oprah show decades ago asking, "Does your face light up [when you see children]?" because that allows your face to speak how your heart feels.
Once you document what you want to Stop, Start and Keep do it again for the the following specific areas of your life: Health, Spiritual, Financial, Family, Work and Fun.
For Mindset Hack #3 write or document your big hairy audacious goal. This might be something that scares you or you may not currently have the resources or you may fear rejection or success. Document it anyway.
These three mindset hacks will allow you to move into 2021 with confidence.
